Since 2001, in accordance with the school’s philosophy of whole-person education, moral character development, and community service, Wai Kiu College has conducted a school-based “Uniform Team Project.” Several uniform teams have been established and incorporated into the extended curriculum to date, including:

Scout Troop

Venture Scout Unit

Hong Kong Road Safety Association

Hong Kong Adventure Corps

Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade- Youth Command

　    Our school requires all S1 students to join one of these uniformed teams and has begun offering an additional option to students under the new “3-3-4” senior secondary academic structure to supplement the “Other Learning Experiences” component.

　    Since their inception, our uniformed teams have participated in and co-organized a variety of territory-wide and community-based activities. We have always been gratified and pleased that our students have been able to participate actively and without fear of hardship during their “service period.”

　     Over the years, there is no doubt that our uniformed teams have been well-received by the community and people from all walks of life and have received a variety of awards, ranging from individual to team recognition (please refer to the individual profiles of each uniformed team for details).

　    We are not complacent, though, and our uniformed teams are prepared to make the most of every opportunity to adjust the training curriculum in accordance with the new senior secondary academic structure. This is necessary to maintain the school’s mission and the current trajectory of educational reform.
