In the face of changing social trends and family structures in the 21st century, the subcultural trends and personal growth issues of Hong Kong youth have become increasingly complex and difficult to address. Our school's counseling team, in promoting counseling work, seeks to understand student issues and provide guidance to assist their growth and counter negative social influences. Over the years, the counseling team has implemented a series of developmental and preventive programs to establish a healthy self-image and a positive life view among students, and to achieve holistic development and self-actualization.

In terms of preventive work, we organize various types of orientation activities such as the "S1 Orientation Camp" and welcome activities during lunchtime to help students adapt to and engage in school life at an early stage. Through counseling programs such as the "Peer Counseling Programme," "Social Skills Training Workshops," and "Comprehensive Sex Education Program," we enhance students' holistic development and foster a sense of cohesion within the campus, promoting a culture of care and well-being.

In terms of developmental work, the counseling team, through programs like the "District-based Program" and the "New Arrival Student Program," aims to enhance students' learning effectiveness, broaden their learning experiences beyond the classroom, facilitate students' reflection, and construct personal success experiences through various challenging activities, thereby enhancing their understanding of society and sense of belonging.

To cater for the needs of senior students, the counseling team organizes various types of talks on topics like HKDSE results announcement, further education and career for Form 6 students. We also organize a "Mentorship Program" to strengthen communication between teachers and students, enhance students' learning motivation and effectiveness, and identify individual student issues early on for timely referral, thus preparing candidates for the next stage of their education.

To reinforce a positive school culture among all students, the counseling team organizes "Morning Inspirations". Through morning speeches, sharing topics such as current affairs, life perspectives, values, and common issues, phenomena, and trends in the classroom, correct moral values are instilled. Besides, we also organize an annual "Respect Teachers Campaign," which includes activities such as the "Respect Teachers Font Design Competition," "Class Emblem Design Competition," "Teacher-Student Sports Competition," "Respect Teachers and Love Students Photography Competition," and "Teacher-Student Talent Show," promoting a harmonious campus culture of respecting and caring for teachers and students. Both teachers and students actively participate in these activities, fully embodying a sense of unity and care within the campus.

In terms of remedial work, in addition to general case follow-ups, the counseling team has implemented the "Self-Improvement Program" and the "Phoenix Program." Students can maintain a "Good Deeds and Actions Record" and participate in "Remedial Workshops" (volunteer training/service) while undergoing assessment. This allows students to offset their past mistakes with positive actions and improve their academic performance and conduct grades. The aim is to help students reestablish good habits and a correct attitude towards life, ultimately achieving personal growth and self-realization.

To enhance collaboration between home and school, the counseling team regularly organizes parent workshops and conducts home visits, aiming to strengthen communication between families and the school. We engage in discussions with parents, address and handle various needs related to students' growth, and assist students in their journey of growth within a nurturing environment.

Looking ahead, we hope that through school-wide counseling activities, both teachers and students in our school will contribute to the establishment of a healthy and harmonious culture of care, enhancing a sense of belonging, safety, and success for our students, and fostering the development of their diverse capabilities.
